Oh yes...

Belfast's first ever urban sports park is expected to be open by Easter next year at the M3 underpass at Nelson Street.

The news follows the award of £370,000 towards the project from the European Union's Programme for Peace and Reconciliation managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Belfast City Council has been working for a number of years with Belfast Urban Sports (BUS) to create an iconic city centre sports park. The Council and Better Belfast are funding the remainder of the £500,000 total cost.

The new funding will allow construction of the park to begin by the start of 2009.

Well done BUS!

"You got a helmet?"

"Oh, oh I've got a helmet! (Laughs) I got a beauty!"

Wear your helmets kids, I'd one on on Sunday night and still ended up in A&E...

St1ckers (Dec@ls?)

If you're into handmade greetings cards, then this isn't really the 'blog for you, you should head over to "Bob's cards" (belongs to my lovely wife - her cards are as good as her caribbean chicken!) but if you're looking some custom vinyl cut st1ckers, gimme a shout ;)

I draw these in AutoCAD and then output them to a vinyl cutter. I can pretty much make anything you need, although I don't generally make st1ckers that you can buy elsewhere eg if the company is still in business, don't want to step on any toes! The st1ckers below are purely to show you what I am capable of. Suitable for all sorts of projects and stick to pretty much any smooth dry surface. Can also be cut "mirrored" for sticking to the inside of glass screens, windows, etc.

I made some of the old bmx ones below for throwing about at the old school bmx jam.
They went down pretty well with the more mature (read: older) riders ;) and there's also a bit of a trend at the moment for having your favourite band logo on your bike, which is the reason for some of the others.

After the floods

The guys at Unit 13 are taking the opportunity to do a bit of work on the park during the clean-up after the floods of a couple of weeks ago...

Bl**dy Rabbit!

Max, stay away from the back of the TV!
The Wii sensor wire, and the Scart leads between the TV, HDD, and Digibox are NOT yours to eat!

Old School Jam

Was a quiet turnout, but the Old School Jam at Unit 13 (mentioned a few posts below) went off yesterday, before rain poured in and flooded the place...
Here's some pics. (Will add some video later).

Abubacas...

Had a go at trying an abubaca on Thursday night.
Was pretty happy with the result (need to service that freecoaster tho...):

And Rob had a go at an abubaca on a MacNeil Bibi, whilst riding a MacNeil Bibi, if that makes any sense...
He was also well stoked:

Vids - 1

Been playing about with iMovie tonight... Dunno what it'll end up looking like on here, quality-wise, but here's a wee bit of footy of me down at unit 13 and some trains up at the trails with Irish Mike, Rob, Ross, Shine & Terry, with me bringing up the rear, and crashing...

Rain...

Don't you just love the rain?
Woke at 7:45am this morning to get ready to head off on a trip to Bushy skatepark in Dublin.
Lookin' out the bathroom window... pourin' rain.
Got a call to say it was the same in Dublin, so the trip was abandoned.
Raincheck?
Gotta love the weather, huh?

Been toying with the idea of setting up a website for a while, but thinking a blog may be more usable ???
Anyway, will write more soon, should really be working now... ;)
